God’s dream is that His House would be a ‘House of Prayer for all People’ ! The Forest Lake Church hosts House of Prayer Experience (H.o.P.E) every Wednesday at 7PM. From the time we have begun meeting in a small classroom to its current space since 2007, we have seen God calling His people to prayer. Every Wednesday, H.o.P.E becomes a place for a God encounter for many. We pray that many more House of Prayer Experiences will begin to rise up all over the US and the rest of the world. Here are weekly stories of H.o.P.E that remind us that God is at work in our lives and everywhere!

What does a Praying Church look like?

January 6, 2010

In this photo, people are coming forward together to pray for Lina and her family.

The first House of Prayer Experience of the year began with a shout of Alleluia!

Dr. Morris led us in a reflection about the meaning of "devoting" ourselves to prayer and the depth of what that commitment means to us a group. Our 'church' on Wednesday night is eclectic with people from various ethnic, denominational and generational backgrounds bound by a purpose to authentically connect with God and help one another to do just that!

When a beloved elementary school teacher named Lina came up with her husband. Her family, friends, colleague and a few of a little students and even strangers joined her to show their support of her through a recent health crisis. God is able to bring a surge of hope and abundant life in everyone regardless of his or her condition. Kristi Quinnie reminded us of that through this song as we concluded our time together:

Yet I know when my eyes fail to see
He is able
And even though it seems impossible to me
He is able
But if He chooses not to move
In the way we prayed he would
We're confident He's working
all together for our good
I will stand behind His Word
For He is able

Praying for our joy and hope for the journey in 2010.
